June 30 | Sunday Suppers Front Porch Seafood Boil A/TX

65.00

Is there anything as lovely as an early Sunday evening in June?

How about gathering with your community— like-minded, food-loving Austinites (and visitors, all welcome!), for a sweet, seasonal Summer Seafood Boil and all of the trimmings?

Roll up your sleeves and join local market chef Maggie Perkins for THE midsummer event of the season to learn all the steps for creating your own backyard boil, whether for 4 or 40, and gather around tables at her South Austin home to enjoy the feast together.

During this combination demonstration and hands-on workshop, we’ll work together to prepare seasonal seafood and all of the fixings to celebrate summer in the most summery way of them all. Menu will also include seasonal fruits and vegetables, prepared together and iced tea will be served (while alcoholic libations are BYOB, but not at all frowned upon). Come create and share a great meal and greater memories with fellow foodies from Austin and beyond.

Sunday, June 30, 2019 | BYOB | 5:00—7:30pm

Directions to class, located in the 78745 neighborhood of central south Austin near St. David’s Hospital, will be provided by email 24 hours prior to class.

Maggie makes every effort to accommodate your food sensitivities and special diets, however if you have any unique concerns or food allergies, please contact us prior to scheduling your class.

About Maggie Perkins: When food writer, former farmer, and market chef Maggie Perkins isn’t preparing seasonal dishes on the fly at local farmers markets and entertaining the students gathered around her South Austin kitchen table, you might find her at a backwoods barbecue joint in Mississippi, comparing chargrilled oysters in the Big Easy, or trading food folklore with a fishmonger on the coast. Her true north is her home kitchen, puttering about and spinning vintage vinyl, perfecting her creole cooking techniques, and developing recipes she shares in print, and on her blog, Notes from Maggie’s Farm.

No refunds are given, however transfers are allowed with prior notice.
