July 2 | Make and Take All-Ameircan Fruit Pie A/TX

Be the star of the Independence Day show wherever it may find you with your very own home-baked All-American Peach or Cherry pie!

Join local market chef Maggie Perkins to learn how to make pie crust from scratch, create fresh fillings from in-season fruits, and build an award-winning pie just in time to take to the holiday celebration! Come roll up your sleeves, roll out some dough, and take a ready-to-bake pie home at the end of this popular class. You’ll make a great dessert and greater memories with fellow foodies from Austin and beyond.

Staying in? Celebrate a long weekend by tucking into that perfect pie, solo, with a long-weekend binge watch or novel-read, accompanied by a cold glass of milk, or bubbly champagne!

No plans for this weekend? No worries! You can take your pie home and freeze it for up to 3 months for later revelry, company, or just as you feel like it. Whatever the occasion, you’ll be on your way to pies you’ll be proud of, and none can resist!

Tuesday, July 2, 2019 | 6:45-8:30 PM | BYOB

Class will be held in a private kitchen located in the 78745 zip area of South Central Austin, near St. David’s Hospital. Address will be provided 24 hours prior to class.

About Maggie Perkins : When food writer, former farmer, and market chef Maggie Perkins isn't preparing seasonal dishes on the fly at local farmers markets, you might find her at a backwoods barbecue joint in Mississippi, comparing chargrilled oysters in the Big Easy, or trading food folklore with a fishmonger on the coast. Her true north is in her home kitchen, puttering about, spinning vintage vinyl, perfecting her creole cooking techniques, and developing recipes she shares in print, and on her blog, Notes from Maggie's Farm .
