Bring along your sweetheart, your bestie, or treat yourSELF to a fun and informative LEARN TO COOK class. Phở, pronounced fuh, is the wildly popular savory soup considered the national dish of the Vietnamese, and becoming a culinary movement unto itself in the States. Common street food often enjoyed at breakfast, Pho consists of a deeply flavored broth, served over meat, seafood, or tofu and rice noodles, with crisp vegetables, herbs, and condiments to complement the bowl.

In this intimate class, enjoy a combination of individualized attention, instruction, demonstration, and hands-on preparation learning to make Phở bò tái nạm, the version of pho with a beef broth base flavored by traditional Vietnamese spices served with thin slices of flank steak.

Share your own food and family memories over a steaming, savory bowl, as we gather and share a meal of our handiwork that will warm your tummy and soul.

You’re an AWESOME cook. Come uncover your genius.

Bottled water provided. Feel free to BYOB.

February 23 | 6:30-8:00

Class will be held at a private kitchen in the Bouldin Creek area of South Austin. Address will be provided 24 hours prior to class. No refunds are given, but you may transfer your spot with notice.

About Maggie Perkins: When food writer, former farmer, and market chef Maggie Perkins isn't preparing seasonal dishes on the fly at local farmers markets, you might find her at a backwoods barbecue joint in Mississippi, comparing chargrilled oysters in the Big Easy, or trading food folklore with a fishmonger on the coast. Her true north is in her home kitchen, puttering about, spinning vintage vinyl, perfecting her creole cooking techniques, and developing recipes she shares in print, and on her blog, Notes from Maggie's Farm.
