Sept. 14 | Brunch Club | Taste of TX: Tacos and Tortillas

Give your brunch a decidedly Tex-Mex flavor with this fun and informative combination demonstration and hands-on brunch class.

In this popular class, join local market chef Maggie Perkins to learn how to prepare all of our Texas Tex-Mex breakfast iconic favorites. Roll up your sleeves to make fresh tortillas, perfectly scrambled eggs (and learn how to hold them for serving a crowd), and favorite fillings and toppings including fresh salsas molcajete and “that green sauce” creamy jalapeño salsa.

At class end, we’ll gather around the table to break bread (or tortillas as the case may be) with our newest friends, and enjoy a taco feast fit for el rey y la reina! Come make a great meal and greater memories with fellow foodies from Austin and beyond.

Sept. 14 | 11 AM- 1 PM | BYOB

Class will be held in a private kitchen located in the 78745 zip area of South Central Austin, near St. David’s Hospital. Address will be provided 24 hours prior to class.

Maggie makes every effort to accommodate your food sensitivities and special diets, however if you have any unique concerns or food allergies, please contact us prior to scheduling your class.

About Maggie Perkins: When food writer, former farmer, and market chef Maggie Perkins isn't preparing seasonal dishes on the fly at local farmers markets, you might find her at a backwoods barbecue joint in Mississippi, comparing chargrilled oysters in the Big Easy, or trading food folklore with a fishmonger on the coast. Her true north is in her home kitchen, puttering about, spinning vintage vinyl, perfecting her creole cooking techniques, and developing recipes she shares in print, and on her blog, Notes from Maggie's Farm.
