Just in time for Mardi Gras, join Austintatious for some New Orleans Favorites!

The morning starts off with Beignets the official donut of New Orleans,  This  square donut brought over by French settlers made famous by the Café Du Mound are best right out of the fryer with a hot cup of coffee. Then we will move on to  King Cake the main addition to any Marti Gras Party. This sweet and colorful  cake, filled with cinnamon, sugar, pecans, and maybe even a plastic baby... The King Cake is a New Orleans tradition that involves a pastry, a small plastic baby, and a party. The King Cake is baked with a small plastic baby hidden inside, the person who gets the slice with baby in it has to host the next part

Recipes made in class will be full recipes that is for 5 dozen beignet and 2 king cake, Guests will finish off 1/2 dozen beignet and one king cake in class, and save the rest. This way the dough can stay in the freezer until needed again. Fresh Beignets or king cake without the mess.
